We're made to look at each other. Degas
David Krasnostein is a freelance photographer, based in Melbourne, Australia.
My work focuses on capturing a moment in time, whether it's portraiture, street photography, or travel.
To photograph is to hold one's breath as all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's a great physical and intellectual joy. Henri Cartier Bresson.
In 1997 I published 'Montserrat - The Emerald Isle' which today remains the only photographic book recording life on this British Caribbean island since destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1995. In 2019 my book 'The Greeks: A Resilient Spirit' was published by The Hellenic Museum of Victoria. A monochrome essay of street photography recording aspects the Greek depression of the post 2008 period. In 2020 I published 'Colours and Faces of India' (teNeues Media, Munich). A photographic journey through India.
